Today was the first day of the Life is good Festival, and it was a lot of fun. Life is Good founders Bert and John Jacobs announced from the stage that the festival had exceeded last year’s totals and is close to reaching the goal of $1 million to help children in crisis. But close isn’t good enough. Perhaps you can help with a donation? You can learn more about the cause and make a donation on this page. You can also just come out to the festival!
All the money generated there goes to help children in crisis, and if tomorrow is anything like today, you’ll have a good time. Don’t worry about the weather. It’ll be fine. When I got there this morning the skies looked ominous and continued to the rest of the day. But the rain held off and the clouds filtered the sun, providing us, instead, with comfortable temperatures that were perfect for an outdoor festival. Forecasts for tomorrow look like those for today, so here’s hoping for another nice day.
The music was great today, I especially enjoyed Martin Sexton and Michael Franti, both acts I was seeing for the first time. I’ll write a full report after the festival, but for now you can check out some of the pictures and comments I posted via Gowalla.
Tomorrow’s lineup looks at least as good. Ray LaMontagne, Raphael Saadiq, the Levon Helm Band among others. Check it out!
