NITLE site has launched. It’s a work in progress. We are a dynamic organization evolving to suit the needs of our participating institutions, and our site will reflect that, constantly evolving in its own right, but this is a major revision. Those who have visited before will now find information easier to find and easier to understand than it had been. I also find it easier on the eyes, with the colors of the fonts being darker that they have been. Prominent RSS feeds make it easy for users who know how to use that feature to have information delivered to them in the manner they prefer, rather than necessarily having to go to our site.
The site could be more eye catching. With the exception of the logo and the “Engage, Explore and Expand” graphic on the first page, there are no images. We certainly have things we can show. Our events are interesting, engaging and highlight some cutting edge work that is being done at our participating colleges. We also champion the use of teaching with media in our workshops and events.

Our first priority, however, is to convey important information that really needs to be conveyed textually. Images and media will come. No doubt there are other flaws as well. We’ll catch those or they will be brought to our attention as time goes by and folks use it. But I, for one, am very pleased and think our designers, tech team, participant relations and communications teams all deserve a lot of credit for a job well done. ]]>
